How long will the photo shoot last?
If you’re looking for an individual photo session at one location with 1–2 outfit changes—like my most popular Exclusive California Vibe shoot—one hour is usually enough. I’ve been doing photography for many years and have taken thousands of beach photos, so I know how to make you feel comfortable and look natural in front of the camera.
The price for a one-hour photoshoot at Venice Beach is $299. If you prefer a different beach, a destination fee may apply. Please refer to the Pricing page for more details on various packages in the Los Angeles area.
If you’re single and want photos at two locations (e.g., Venice Beach and Venice Canals), two hours are required to cover everything in great detail.
If you’re a couple or a family, a 2–3 hour shoot is more comfortable since more people require individual attention.
When is the best time for a beach photo session?
Timing depends on the season, as sunrise and sunset times change throughout the year. In general, morning sessions are best due to soft lighting and empty beaches—an 8–9 AM start in summer is ideal.
Sunset sessions are also beautiful, and you may get a stunning sunset if you’re lucky. The downside is that beaches tend to be crowded, but we can move to a quieter spot—most SoCal beaches are wide and spacious. Sunset light is warmer and will give your skin a golden tone; if you don’t like that look, consider a morning shoot.
If midday is the only time you’re available—no worries! I’m a professional and can work with any lighting. My advice: bring sunglasses—they’re helpful under the bright California sun.
If you’re doing a one-hour shoot at Venice Beach and another at the Venice Canals, I recommend doing the beach session in the morning and then heading to the canals once the sun is higher.
